This story began with four brave people taking a step forward and singing a tune close to their hearts and far from the lands of Banat. With their artist hats on, they stepped into the studio where a handful of local artists were ready to embroider around their songs. And they did. For days on end the little studio room was filled with sounds, harmonies, laughter, and a bag full of wind pipes. It was exploratory, like travelling to the far East and back to the Atlantic, all before lunch. And behold, the second leg of the journey would always set off only once the coffee grounds could be seen at the bottom of their cups. As Sisyphus was in nobody’s graces, the artists’ efforts came to a fine end, etched onto Side A of this record you’re holding. But the project that put all these efforts into motion was ViceVersa, so it was time to flip the sound. So jumped onto the pages of our story three knights of electronica, who disassembled and put back together the voices, the harmonies, the beats. Thus we were given the flip side to carve into eternity (or for however long this record will be willing to spin). But the music will remain forever in our hearts, those of us who crossed paths with these walking talents and those who had the chance to hear this music. Because we come from stories to create more stories. Some are forgotten, some are written down, some are twisted. But music remains true and faithful in bringing us all together, taking down borders some armies wouldn’t touch. These artists were brought together not only by music but something more—the invisible thread tying everything together, creating the harmony, that you cannot learn or fake—being human. These artists chose to call Timișoara home, and these intersections occurred in the year we celebrate all culture in this city, for Europe. So let this be a monument of their encounter, of the power music has in bringing people together, of the esteem we hold for those going through fire and who can still smile afterwards.
